How to consult the RAI

It is possible that many of us have properties that we do not use and we want to rent them to companies. It can also happen that we have a company, and we see convenient to do business with another company, but we do not know if this is really solvent. In these cases and in many others, it may be convenient to consult the Register of Unpaid Acceptances, to know if these companies are listed as delinquent or to know if a person has debts. In this article of .com we will explain how to consult the RAI.

Steps to follow:

one

The Registry of Unpaid Acceptances (RAI) is a file that accumulates all the information regarding defaults of companies that have been made via financial institutions and that amount to more than € 300. They must be formalized in official documents such as checks, bills of exchange or credits.

two

The RAI list consists of information sent by financial institutions, usually banks and savings banks, when they receive a debt document that has generated a default by the debtor. He has a margin of 90 days to deal with the debt and avoid being registered with the RAI and accused of being part of a list of defaulters.

3

Normally, only the financial entities that form part of the Inter-Bank Cooperation Center have direct access to the RAI , since they are the ones who contribute data to the lists of defaulters and therefore who can obtain information from them.

4

In any case, if we are providers of a credit to a legal entity -for example, a client company of ours that is pending to pay us, and we offer a loan to pay it in installments- we can go to our financial institution or to the one that does of intermediary in the granting of the credit, and after the payment of a commission, they will be able to inform us of if that company appears in the RAI as well as of the reasons.

5

We can also go to a management company or make financial reports and financial analysis of companies, which also usually have access to this data. In this case we must also make the payment of a certain commission.

6

Finally, it is important to remember that the time that the companies stay in the RAI is 30 months after having declared the default, regardless of whether they resolve it later or not. After this period, they can process their disappearance of the record of defaults.
