How to insert a subform in Access

A subform is a form that is inserted into another form in Microsoft Access 2007 . The primary form is known as the main form, while the form that is attached to the main form is called a subform. You may want to use subforms when you want to display data from tables or queries that have a one-to-many relationship. For example, you can create a form that shows employee data. Next, you can create a subform that shows the orders of each worker.

Steps to follow:

Start Microsoft Access from the "Start" menu.

Click on the "Create tab" option under the "forms" group. Click on "More shapes." Click on "Form Wizard" to start the wizard.

Select a table or consult "Tables / Queries" from the drop-down menu.

Double-click on the fields that you want to include in the table or query selected in step 3.

Click on the "Tables / Queries" drop down list on the same page and select another table or query from the list.

Double-click on the fields you want to include in the second table or query.

Click Next".

Choose the table or query from which you want to see the data.

Select "Form with subform (s)" at the bottom and click "Next".

Choose the design option you prefer for the subform. Click Next".

Choose the format style. Click Next".

Write the titles you want for the forms. Note that Microsoft Access 2007 names the forms based on the titles they offer.
