How to turn off the microphone on the MacBook

MacBooks have an internal microphone that you can use to record notes or interviews or audio during the transfer of video / chat conversations. If you do not want the internal microphone to be active, you can change the MacBook settings to prevent the computer from picking up the sounds and voices being played.

Steps to follow:

Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the computer screen.

Click on "System Preferences" to open the audio preferences to deactivate the audio of your MacBook .

Click on "Sound, " which appears in the "hardware" category to deactivate the MacBook audio.

Click on the "entry" option at the top of the window.

To finally deactivate the MacBook microphone and select the "no sound" option.

Close the "System Preferences" window by clicking on the red button in the upper left corner.

  • Remember that you have deactivated the audio of the Macbook because otherwise you will not be able to hold audio conversations in the future.
