The first thing you need to make a homemade mummy costume is a white long-sleeved shirt and white tights or leotards. You can take any old garment that you have in your closet, it is preferable that they fit snugly to the body. And, of course, you need to buy rolls of bandages to cover yourself completely.

The mummies, fresh out of their sarcophagus in which they have been buried thousands and thousands of years, look dirty, aging and creepy. So if you want your mummy costume to look real, we recommend you cut the bandages into quite long strips and submerge them in an infusion of cold tea or coffee so that they acquire an aged look. You should let them dry for an entire night.

The next step to make a mummy costume will be to wrap the shirt and the mesh or leotard with the bandages. So that the disguise does not fall apart before time it is advisable to use a textile glue or go sewing the ends of the strips on the clothes.

Another option is to dress and wrap your body directly with the bandages . You can start with the legs and go up to cover hips, waist, chest, arms and neck.
