A river cruise on the Danube - what you should know

How many of you have ever dreamed of cruising in the "Vacations on the sea" plan? How many have you visualized in the cabin of one of those luxury boats enjoying a few days of relaxation? The proposal that I bring next is not exactly that ..., but it is quite an experience.

In this article, I propose to enjoy a great river cruise on the Danube. For the river that fell in love with Sissi, for the same "Blue Danube" of the famous waltz by Johann Strauss. Navigate this charming river enjoying its dreamy landscapes, while visiting some of the most beautiful and interesting cities in Europe.

Cruise through the waters of the blue river

The Danube river is the second longest in Europe, after the Volga. It is born in Germany, specifically, in the region known as the Black Forest and flows 2, 880 kilometers later, in Romania, in the Black Sea. In its final point it forms a delta, a place of marshes and swamps of great ecological value that was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1990.

In its route, the Danube crosses no less than ten countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine), crossing all of Europe from west to east.

Throughout its course, it shows a great flow and a variable width. In addition, it has 300 tributaries, of which 60 are navigable.

Much to see on a cruise on the Danube

The offer in question of cruises on the Danube is very wide, so you can be sure that you will find a trip to suit you. There are cruises of different days that include one or other cities. Some of the ones you can visit if you decide on this holiday alternative are: Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava or Linsk.

In addition, the Danube offers you the possibility to discover countries that are great unknown, such as Slovakia, Serbia, Bulgaria or Romania.
