How to install Windows on Mac with Virtualbox

Do you have a Mac but sometimes you miss Windows? We have good news: it is possible to install Windows on Mac and use it from time to time, when you need it. There are many ways to do it, but one of the best is the one used by the VirtualBox virtualization program. You just have to follow the steps one by one and with care to achieve it, you will see how in the end it is not so difficult. You dare? The program that will make it possible to install Windows on Mac is VirtualBox. To download it, go to //www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads and click on the link next to VirtualBox 4.3.10 for OS X hosts. Accept the download, open the .dmg file and follow the instructions for its installation.

Now it's time to download Windows . It is possible to do it from //loc.modern.ie/es-es/virtualization-tools#downloads, the page for Internet Explorer developers created by Microsoft. In "Select the desired test OS" mark "Mac" and in "Select the virtualization platform" mark "VirtualBox for Mac". In the lower part will appear all versions of operating systems that you can download. Select the one you want, in our case we have opted for IE10 - Win8. Download all the corresponding files.

Run the Terminal in the folder where you downloaded the files. To do this, right-click on the folder and select Services> New terminal in folder.

Once on the Terminal screen in the folder, type the command chmod + xIE10.Win8.For.MacVirtualBox.part1.sfxy press Enter. Then, execute the command ./IE10.Win8.For.MacVirtualBox.part1.sfxy press Enter again. The system will begin to decompress and install, you will see its progress in the percentage that appears on the right.

When the process finishes, open VirtualBox from the "Applications" folder. Go to File> Import virtualized service.

In the folder in which you downloaded the files, a new one with extension .ova will have been created. Select it and click on "Next".

In the next step you can select a series of preferences. In principle leave it as is and click on "Import". The import process will start.

We're almost there! When the process finishes, the IE10 - Win8 machine will be off in the left column of VirtualBox. Click on the button that says "Start".
