How to install an SD card in a Droid

The Droid gives you the ability to save large amounts of data and run applications that are not compatible with standard mobile phones. The Droid only has 256 MB of internal memory, so it is necessary to use a separate SD card to store more photos or music files on your phone. Unlike many other phone models, the SD card in the Droid is located below the battery in the phone.

Steps to follow:

one

Press and hold the black button on the top of the Droid for three seconds until the "Power Off" appears on the screen. Press "Power Off" to turn off the phone.

two

Locate the back cover of the Droid . Press down the lid and slide it out of the phone. Put the lid aside.

3

Lift the bottom edge of the battery, shaped like a rectangle and pull the phone's battery. Locate the SD card slot on the top of the phone. This is located under the silver metal bar and on the right side of the gold colored battery connection tabs.

4

Align the SD card so that the sloping edge faces right, and the label on the card is facing up. Insert the card into the slot and move carefully until it clicks into place.

5

Set the back of the battery inside the Droid and make sure that the gold connection tabs are touching the corresponding ports on the battery. Press the battery and slide the cover into the phone. Put the phone face up. Press and hold the black top button until the Droid turns on.

Tips
  • Your cellular service provider has already included a 16 GB SD card in your phone. If you want to delete the current SD card, press down on the edge of the card and slide it towards you.
  • The Motorola Droid only supports up to 32 GB of additional memory from an SD card.
