How to make a recovery disc for Windows 7 on Toshiba

Toshiba laptops are shipped with a recovery partition on the hard drive that you can use to recover your laptop in the event of a problem with the machine. Because Toshiba laptops come with a built-in recovery partition, they do not have recovery discs. If you feel more comfortable using recovery discs, or if you simply want a recovery disc to have on hand in case the recovery partition fails, you can create a recovery disc using the recovery program Toshiba Recovery Media Creator

Steps to follow:

one

Click on the "Start" icon in the Windows 7 taskbar.

two

Click on "All Programs, " "My Toshiba, " and then "Recovery Media Creator." The Toshiba Recovery Media Creator program window appears on the screen.

3

Click to check the box to the left of the "Media Recovery System, " then click on the drop-down menu to the right of the "Recovery Media System" below "media set." Select "DVD." The number of DVDs needed to create the recovery disk set appears under "Information".

4

Insert a recordable DVD disc into the optical drive of the computer, then click "Create" in the lower right corner of the program window.

5

Remove and insert the DVDs for additional data requested. Label the disks in order as you remove them, such as "Recovery Disk 1", "Recovery Disk 2", "Recovery Disk 3", and so on. Store the discs in a safe place so you can find them when you need them.
