How to remove icons from the Applications folder on a Mac

All Mac OS X applications are composed of a set of files, including one that performs the icon function. Generally, this ICNS file is customized through the "Get information" command in the Applications folder, but this window does not contain a function to permanently delete the icon . Click on 'Finder', in the main menu, and go to 'Applications' in the left sidebar.

Select the application whose representation you want to delete, and click on 'Show package content'.

Click on the 'Content' folder to open the 'Resources' file.

Select the ICNS file in the file directory. Remember that this file is the icon of the application .
