How to unlock a MacBook if it crashes when you turn it on

If the MacBook crashes during startup or if an intermittent question mark appears after turning it on, or if the screen is off and the sleep indicator is solid (and the computer is not at rest), it may mean that the computer, MacBook does not find the system software on the hard drive or on another disk connected to the computer. To know how to react if you pass any of these actions, carefully read the following steps:

To begin the process of unlocking the MacBook you should wait for a few seconds. If the computer does not start, turn it off by pressing and holding the start button (0) for about 8 or 10 seconds.

Disconnect all external peripherals from the MacBook to unlock it and try to restart it by pressing the start button (0) with the Option key pressed.

Once you have booted your MacBook, click on the hard drive icon () and then on the right arrow.

Next, open System Preferences and click Start Disks.

Select a Mac OS X Local System folder.

If the problem occurs frequently, you may have to reinstall the Mac computer system software.
