Remember what are the requirements to apply for the contributory benefit for unemployment, that is, to be able to collect unemployment:

  • Have quoted at least 360 days in the 6 years prior to the date of termination of your current employment contract.
  • Commit yourself to actively seek employment during the period in which you will receive the benefit.

In case you do not meet these requirements, you may be eligible to receive the unemployment benefit.

9

In case you have worked a minimum of one year, you will be entitled to collect 120 days of benefit. The maximum unemployment that can be charged is two years, a figure that is reached by having worked and quoted for six years. There is a correspondence between the days quoted and the days corresponding to unemployment, that is, the time during which you are entitled to the unemployment benefit:

  • If you have worked from 360 to 539: you have 120 days
  • From 540 to 719: 180 days
  • From 720 to 899: 240 days
  • From 900 to 1, 079: 300 days
  • From 1, 080 to 1, 259: 360 days
