According to the FCI, a typical Neapolitan mastiff male can weigh between 60 and 70 kg and its height at the withers ranges between 65 and 75 cm. A female is somewhat smaller but still spectacular: it weighs between 50 and 60 kg and its height at the withers is between 60 and 68 cm.

Despite its considerable size it is not the highest of the dog breeds but it does seem wider and more robust than its familiar English Mastiff.
