How to make a voice recording on Mac

Macintosh computers are known for their quality in the handling of media, both graphics and audio. All Macs come with the iLife software package installed, which includes an audio recording program known as GarageBand. Whether you want to simply record a ringtone, a huge soundtrack from a movie or just your own voice, GarageBand offers a user-friendly interface that works with the team's internal microphone. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make a voice recording on your Mac.

Open GarageBand. In the first pop-up window, click on "Create new Podcast Episode". Enter a file name for the recording and choose a location on your computer to save the file. Click on "Create."

Go to the left side of your file and look for the "topics" section. If you are male, click on the "Male Voice" track icon. If you are a woman, select the icon for the "Woman Voice" track. This will allow recording for that track.

Go to the track editor in the center of the screen. When you are ready to record your voice, click on the "Record" button, which is the circle button with another red circle contained. start talking, the internal microphone of your Mac should pick up your voice. Click on the "Record" button again when finished. Also click on the "Play" button to stop the cursor from moving forward.

Drag the playback icon to the beginning of the track and press "Play" to listen to your recording. If you are not satisfied, click to highlight the recorded track and press the "Backspace" key to delete it. Click on the "Record" button again to re-record your voice.

When you are finished and you are satisfied with your voice recording, go to "Share" in the top navigation menu. GarageBand can send your recordings to iTunes, upload it to iWeb, or export it and record it wherever you want.
