How to find the Ethernet MAC address

All Ethernet network cards, including 802.11-based wireless cards, have the hardware identifier engraved. This immutable hardware identifier is called Media Access Control (MAC). A MAC address is a 48-bit hexadecimal number. The first 24 bits represent the manufacturer of the card. The last 24 bits are a unique number assigned by the manufacturer. Each Ethernet card produced by all manufacturers has a unique MAC address worldwide. You can find the Ethernet MAC address of the device with the utility "networks and shared resources".

Steps to follow:

Search the Spotlight for the word Network to find the Mac address of your Ethernet card.

Click on the "Network" option in the "System preferences" section.

Click on "Ethernet" to enter the options of your Ethernet card.

Double-click on the Ethernet adapter.

Click on "Details" to see the MAC address . This is called "Physical Address" and is, of six groups of two hexadecimal digits.
