How to convert NTSC to PAL format
Phase Alternating Line (PAL) is an analog encoding format used mainly in Europe, parts of Asia, South America and Australia. It was developed in the 1950s as a way to overcome the problematic American system known as the National Television System Committee (NTSC) . Due to differences in encoding formats, pre-recorded movies and television programs released on DVD in NTSC can not be played on PAL DVD players. NTSC-PAL converters are widely available in electronics stores and allow you to convert NTSC DVDs to PAL format.

Place the pre-recorded NTSC DVD in the NTSC compatible DVD player.

Connect the red, yellow and white wires at one end of the first RCA cable to the red, yellow and white "Video Out" outputs on the back of the NTSC compatible DVD player .

Connect the red, yellow and white wires from the other end of the first RCA cable to the red, yellow and white "Video In" inputs of the NTSC-PAL converter.

Connect the red, yellow and white wires of the second RCA cable to the "Video Out" outputs on the back of the NTSC-PAL converter.

Connect the red, yellow and white terminals of the second RCA cable to the "Video In" inputs on the back of the PAL compatible DVD recorder.

Press the "Play" button on the NTSC compatible DVD player to start playback of the NTSC DVD. Press the "Record" button on the PAL-compatible DVD player to start recording the PAL signal of the NTSC-PAL converter on a blank DVD.
Tips- With the use of a third RCA cable, you can connect the red, yellow and white terminals to the "Video Out" output on the back of the PAL-compatible DVD recorder and the "Video In" input on a TV to control the signal.
- NTSC-PAL converters are useful for making a copy of a pre-recorded movie or TV show. Using them to produce multiple copies of the pre-recorded content for the purpose of sale or marketing is illegal.
