How to assign trusted contacts on Facebook

Are you one of those clueless people who forget passwords? Have you ever been unable to enter Facebook for losing your password and not being able to check your email? Or, even if you are someone more orderly, what would happen if one day you discovered that a hacker has stolen your Facebook account and you can not enter? Having trusted contacts, friends that you trust blindly, and those you will let access to your account will help you a lot. In .com we tell you how to assign trusted contacts in Facebook.

Steps to follow:

one

First of all, think about who those friends will be to whom you will give that power over your account. They are the people you call when you have problems, those who have a set of keys to your house in case one day you leave them inside. Call them and tell them that you are going to add them as trusted contacts and explain that, if one day they receive an email from you saying that you agree, check to see if it is indeed you.

two

With your chosen and informed friends, go to Facebook and click on the icon with a padlock that appears in the upper right part of the screen, next to the notifications icon. A drop-down menu with several options will open. Click below on everything, on " See more configurations ", to access the configuration of your account.

3

You will enter the Settings of your Facebook account, which has many sections to customize everything. What interests us, the assignment of trusted contacts, is in the subcategory of " Security " in the left column. Click there and then, in the list of configurable security elements, in the Edit button of "Trusted contacts".

4

Facebook will tell you that you have not yet chosen any trusted contact for your account. To do so, click on "Choose trusted contacts", which will open another window that will give you some advice. Click on the "Choose trusted contacts" button to select the friends you want to help you access your account if one day you are not able.

5

You must choose between 3 and 5 friends to be designated as trusted contacts. Start typing their names in the designated field and select the ones you want. When you finish, click on " Confirm ". Your friends will receive a notification indicating that you have placed them as trusted contacts.

6

Facebook will ask you to enter your password again before ending the assignment of trusted contacts. It does so for security, to prevent someone who has entered your Facebook (for example, because you left it open in a public place), you can designate yourself as a trusted contact.

7

Your new trusted contacts will now appear in the configuration, where before there was nothing. You can edit them (add more, delete any of them) or directly delete them all. If one day you can not access your Facebook account, call one of these friends to help you solve it.
