How to sign a pdf with Mac Preview

The Mac Preview application, which is installed by default on all Apple computers, hides many possibilities. One of them is to be able to sign your pdf files. It is an operation that is carried out in a very simple and intuitive way, once you have located where the option is in the application's menu. To help you put your rubric in this type of documents, in .com we explain in detail how to sign a pdf with Mac Preview.

Steps to follow:

one

Locate the pdf document and drag it to the icon of the program that will be in your Applications folder.

two

Once you open the PDF with Preview, you must access the option that says " Tools " in the horizontal top menu. In the submenu, choose "Annotation". Then, another menu will open, whose last item is "Signatures".

3

There, you will have the option to " Create signature with FaceTime camera " or "Manage signatures". This last one is an alternative to use the different rubrics that we can create in the team.

4

We chose " Create signature with FaceTime camera " and a window will open in which you tell us what we should do. The first thing is to write our signature with a black ink pen on a completely white paper, without any drawing.

5

Next, we put the paper in front of the computer's camera, so that the text is placed just above a blue line that appears in the FaceTime window that was opened in the previous step.

6

We have the option to " Save the signature ", something useful in the case that we do it on our personal Mac. The alternative is to use it only for that document without being archived, which is more convenient if we use a public computer.

7

Once we create the rubric with Preview of Mac, to sign the pdf we must place the cursor on the place of the document in which we want it to appear and click. It will appear immediately and we can even move it inside the file.

8

In the case that we have saved the signature, every time we open a pdf with Preview a new option will appear in the horizontal top menu where we will have direct access to our rubrics.
