How to reduce the size of a pdf with Mac's ColorSync Utility

Utility ColorSync is one of those applications that Apple incorporates as standard in their computers but, in general, are little used by users, despite the extensive potential that presents, some perhaps aimed at professional users but others very useful for the general public .

On many occasions we find ourselves with the situation that we have to send a pdf by mail or upload it to a website and it is too heavy . With this program, we can reduce the size in a very simple and intuitive way. In .com we explain how to reduce the size of a pdf with Mac's ColorSync Utility.

Steps to follow:

one

The program can be found in the folder called Utilities, which, in turn, is within Applications, a directory that I recommend you take a look at because it hides treasures.

two

Once the program is located, we open it and in the top menu we click on File and then on Open.

3

With the pdf already open, we go back to the File menu, but this time we click on Export. We will see that we have the option to give a new name to the document and change the format, but what we are interested in is the Quartz Filter option, which is what will allow us to display a new menu with options to vary the brightness, color, etc. .

4

What interests us in this submenu is Reduce File Size, we simply have to mark it and finish the operation. We will have already manipulated the pdf, which will have much less weight .

In the image, it is seen that another option is to reduce pdf. This is a personal filter that I have created, with my custom parameters, you can do the same as the program allows.
