How to make Easter hats

Easter is a time of rebirth, of renewal - and in some countries they have a tradition of making colorful hats. With a little creativity and some simple materials you can turn a common hat into an Easter hat .

You will need to:
  • Straw hat
  • silk flowers
  • Tape
  • Glue
Steps to follow:

one

Find a straw hat and a series of accessories that you would like to add to that hat. The shops of economic articles and stores of crafts offer such articles. To keep in line with the traditional Easter hat, collect silk flowers and ribbon in pastel colors of at least 2 centimeters thick. Add all the elements you can imagine to this basic decoration.

two

Make the hat tie. Select a ribbon at least 2 centimeters wide to wrap around the base of the hat, just above the edge. This will reinforce the accessories that will soon be added. Use the glue gun to apply a thin layer of glue to the back of the tape and press firmly into place. Let the glue dry.

3

Select the flowers for the base. Choose a variety of flowers that will be added to the ribbon around the base of the hat. The number you need depends on how big they are. Use at least six medium-sized flowers to achieve a full effect. Use the glue gun to apply a generous portion of glue on the fatter bottom of the flower and press it into place on the ribbon. Repeat the procedure for all the flowers until you have a border of flowers around the hat .

4

Add other accessories. Paste more flowers on the brim of the hat, along with other accessories. These may include plastic eggs, plastic fruits, small birds, rabbits or stuffed chickens, dry colored sticks, decorative pins, plastic or glass ornaments, pieces of broken jewelry or pendant rhinestones. Your imagination is your only limit in these accessories.

Tips
  • Easter hats can be elegant, discreet or downright ridiculous. That's what makes them fun. Make it wild if it fits your personality.
