How to migrate from Blogger to Wordpress

It is very common to choose Blogger, Google's blog creation tool, when starting with our first blog; but if the thing progresses and we become more expert, we will immediately want to make the leap to Wordpress. You have already done with the domain and have hired a hosting service and installed it on Wordpress.org, and you only have to do the migration of the contents. How? In .com we tell you how to migrate from Blogger to Wordpress.

Steps to follow:

one

Log in to your new blog (usually at the URL www.domainname.com/wp-admin). In the menu on the left, under Tools, choose Import .

two

A list of different services from which to import your blog will appear. Choose " Blogger ".

3

Next, Wordpress will ask us for authorization to access our Blogspot account. Click on Authorize after entering the data. The same thing will happen with the Google account. Authorize again.

4

Having accessed our Blogger account (or Google, which is the same thing after all), Wordpress will be able to detect if we have more than one blog there. If this is the case, select the one you want to import and click " Import ."

5

The import process will begin, which may take a few minutes. When finished, all that remains is to define the author of the articles. On that same screen, click Set Author and select the author you want (you can change it later, post to post, when you have introduced more authors in the system).

6

The bulk of the blog has already gone from Blogger to Wordpress, but if you had images you will have seen that these have not made the step and are still hosted on Google. If you want to do well, you will have to upload them one by one to each post (if Google decided to close Blogger, you would lose those photos).
