How to change the color of Mac folders

In this article we will explain how to change the color of Mac folders using a free application, called FolderTeint and that you can download from the Internet. It is very easy to use and allows you to give different colors to each folder depending on the type of documents they host, such as applications, music, photographs, etc. In addition to color, you can choose other parameters such as saturation, brightness or contrast. Steps to follow:

Once you have installed the program, open it and in the top horizontal menu item, click where it says " Format " and, in the sub-menu, mark " Show colors ". This will open a window like the one that appears in the screen capture, to select with great precision the color you want to give to your folder.

In the main window of the program to change the color of your Mac folders, play with the lower buttons, where it says "Select All" and "Edit selection" to choose if you want to change all the color folders, just change a group or give them different colors.

In the example, we will change the color "Music" folder . First, select it and then click on the " Edit Selection " button. A new window will open where you can choose the color, contrast, saturation and brightness of the folder.

To avoid that to be able to change the color you have to close the user session, uncheck the "Logout User" box. Once you have chosen the color, you must click on the "Apply" button.
