How to download a Windows XP recovery disc

If you are running Windows XP and your computer software crashes or becomes unusable, you may have to run Windows XP Recovery to reset the software and make your computer useable again. Many computers, when purchased, do not come with a Windows XP recovery disc, but you can download it for free. The Windows XP recovery disc has almost all the computer programs and files that came by default with your computer and can help you in rebuilding the hard drive.

Steps to follow:

one

Place a formatted CD in the CD drive. Click on "Download a Microsoft Windows XP recovery disc" that you will find on the internet. Click on "Download." Then click on "Save". Find the CD drive in the menu and click "OK."

two

Remove the CD when the download of the Windows XP recovery disc is complete, and place it on the computer where you need to use it.

3

Turn off the computer, and then restart your computer. The computer will automatically start the execution of the Windows XP recovery disc, which will allow you to install Windows XP, again.

Tips
  • Consider whether it is necessary to download a Windows XP recovery disc. Microsoft, the manufacturer of the Windows XP recovery disc, insists that downloading a disc is only necessary if you are installing a Windows XP full version, if your CD drive works, if you can not boot your computer from the CD-ROM and if you are able to start the computer from a CD drive.
