How to download Dafont fonts

Sometimes we need a font or typography that is not in our computer and we thought how we could find it and install it. The truth is that there are many websites through which to download infinite fonts, but it can be difficult to find them free and simple to use. Dafont is one of the most recommended, as it has a large database of sources that you can download without problem and use on your computer. The first step to download Dafont sources will be to access the web through www.dafont.com

It should be noted that this web portal is one of the most used to download fonts, as it has a large variety and number of free sources.

Then, you can start to search the portal looking for a source that suits your needs or refine your search through the top menu . There you will find typographies separated by types and families; in our case, we are going to look for a handwritten letter.

By clicking on the family of Dafont fonts that we are interested in, we will find a list of those that are included and we will find the option to insert a sample text to see how it looks with the chosen font. In this example, we will write in the "Download" text box.

Go looking at each and every one of the fonts that Dafont allows you to download and choose the one you like best or better fit with what you are looking for. Once you have chosen it, click on the "Download" icon on the right side and a menu will open to decide where to save the compressed file.

When you have downloaded the Dafont font and you have it already on your computer, open the location and unzip the file containing the fonts and save them in a folder where you can find them. If you do not know how to do it, see our article on how to unzip RaR files.

On the other hand, you must open the control panel of your computer-through which you can modify many other parameters in addition to installing sources-and go to the "Appearance and customization" menu .

Next, you must click on the "Preview, delete or show and hide sources" option, in the Sources menu.

Note that the screenshots of our example have been made with Windows 8, but in most versions of Windows the instructions are similar.

The next screen that you will obtain will show you all the sources installed in your computer, both those that came standard and the fonts that you could download and install before.

Now you must return to the folder where you have saved the font downloaded from Dafont and copy them through the CTRL + C command or from the secondary menu.

Finally, you must go back to the sources of the control panel and paste the downloaded fonts, doing CTRL + V or with the menu. A message will then appear informing you about the installation of these new sources on your computer.

In this way, you will be able to see the fonts you have downloaded from Dafont installed on your computer, along with the ones you had previously.

To verify that you have done well and Dafont sources have been installed on your computer, go to the text editor or an editing program and look for the font in the font menu. You will see that it will appear as one more source and you will be able to write texts using that typeface.
