How to copy content from a computer to an iPad

The different applications on the iPad allow you to create, edit and view different types of digital content. The type of content depends on the application in question, and goes, from videos and audio files, to word processing documents and spreadsheets. Once the corresponding application (s) is installed on the iPad, its content is transferred from the computer through the file exchange mechanism integrated into the iTunes multimedia management software.

Download and install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Follow the detailed installation instructions on the iTunes download page.

Open iTunes on your computer and connect the iPad using the USB cable. ITunes will create an entry for the iPad in "devices" in the left column.

Select iPad in the "DEVICES" list in iTunes, and then click "Applications."

Go to "shared files" at the bottom of "Applications" in iTunes . Select the application related to the content you want to transfer from the "Applications".

Drag and drop your content from your computer into the "Documents" box in iTunes. Click on the "Sync" button in the lower right corner to transfer the content to your associated application on the iPad.

• You can also transfer the contents of the iPad back to the computer using this method, by dragging the "Documents" files and putting them into a folder on your computer.
