How to change a sheet from vertical to horizontal in Word 2010

Do you need a Word page to be horizontal instead of vertical? It is very likely that you will know how to change the orientation of the entire document but you will not find the option to do it with a single sheet. The truth is that it is not very intuitive to discover it and that is why in this article we want to explain step by step how to change a sheet from vertical to horizontal in Word 2010 and that this situation is no longer a problem for you.

Steps to follow:

one

First of all, it should be noted that when creating a new Microsoft Word document by default it will be configured with vertical orientation, since it is the most common way of writing. However, it is not difficult to change it and get a landscape document.

So, the first thing you should do is go to the top tab of 'Page Design ' through which you can modify the configuration of the page.

two

In case you would like to change the orientation of all the pages of the Word document, that is, instead of vertical all the vertical pages, you just have to click on the 'Orientation' button and select 'Horizontal'. In this way, the placement of all the pages will be automatically changed and each time you make a page break, the landscape format will be maintained.

3

If, on the other hand, you are only looking for a way to change a sheet from vertical to horizontal in Word 2010, you must place the cursor on the page you want to modify, click on the 'Margins' button -yes, although it may sound weird- and then press the last option: 'Custom Margins'.

4

Then, in the pop-up window that will appear, you must select ' Horizontal ' as orientation, since by default it will appear vertically, as we have already mentioned.

Next, open the drop-down menu of the option 'Apply to' and choose ' From here on out ', because you want to keep the orientation of the previous pages; remember to press the 'Accept' button to confirm the action.

5

This done, you will see how automatically the Word page where you are located is horizontal (in our example, we write it so that you see it clearer) while the previous one remains vertical.

6

In case you just want a horizontal page and not all the ones that come next, you should repeat step 4: place yourself on the page you want to convert back to vertical, on the Design tab of the page click on Margins / Custom Margins / Orientation: vertical . Remember also to re-select the option of 'Apply to: From here on out'.

7

If we reduce the zoom, we will see clearly that we have managed to change a sheet from vertical to horizontal in Word 2010 . In this way, our document is configured with vertical orientation and only a single page is landscape.

Did you find it useful? We hope so!
