Villages to visit in Galicia - with images

How we like lists to human beings! The most beautiful, the biggest, the most distant ... The truth is that it's nice to see how in our country there are so many beautiful, interesting and attractive places to list. Today we are going to move to Galicia, one of the most popular autonomous communities in Spain as far as rural tourism is concerned, ideal to take a look at its towns and villages more beautiful and more charming.

From coastal enclaves with all the flavor of the fishing and marine tradition, to ancient hulls of singular architectural and cultural interest. Five towns like five suns, in a land where there are hundreds ... As always, any denomination in this sense is relative and there will be those who think that other places are more beautiful. But without a doubt, these five enclaves have many reasons to be on the list of the towns to visit in Galicia .

The waterfall of Xallas

Although surely you know many more there is no doubt that the peoples that appear in this list are all full of charm, does not mean they are the prettiest, everyone has their preferences, but they sure do not leave you indifferent.

Let's start with the town of Ézaro, on the Costa da Morte, a town that is known for something because of its famous waterfall that empties directly into the sea: the Xallas River. Another place to visit is the viewpoint from which you can see the town, the waterfall of 100 meters high and the beach, a really impressive place.

Granaries and cruises

Combarro, seven kilometers from Pontevedra, is famous for being one of the most charming and flavorful towns in Galicia. You can see two corners of this municipality in the first photo and also in the one that is on these lines. Its old town, full of granaries and cruises and with a beautiful church, is a must.

An old town full of history

Allariz is another place in which culture, heritage and traditional architecture have a place of reference. This town belongs to Orense and is located in the western part of the province. The beauty and good conservation of its old town made that in 1971 it received the name of Artistic Historic Site.

Beaches and folk in the Rías Altas

Ortigueira is a reference name for lovers of the sea and music. Its magnificent beaches (Espasante and del Picón, without going any further) and the folk festival that every summer takes place next to the sea place this town in the center of the Galician tourist map. Located in the Rías Altas, the municipality of Ortigueira also has a beautiful interior, formed by mountains such as Capelada, Faladoira and Coriscada.

Religion and mythology by the sea

Finally, we can not leave Galicia without a visit to Cedeira . The Sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido is an excellent reason to visit this place, located on the north coast of the Rías Altas. Wild nature, sea and mountain, religion and mythology come together in a magical spot, full of unforgettable beauty.
