How to make a magnetic truck crane
This electro-magnetic truck will lift needles and nails or drag a small metal car. Let the electro magnet down, turn it on and pick up something. Lift it up and push the truck to the unloading site. Turn it off and release the load. Remember to turn it off when you are not using it, because otherwise the battery will wear out very soon. You will need to:- A strong cardboard box 20 cm long and 12 cm wide
- Strong cardboard
- 8 paper pins
- A reel
- A pencil
- A rope 30 cm long
- A 4.5 volt battery
- An electro-magnet and 3 clips
- 2 cables 20 cm long with bare tips
- Adhesive tape and scissors

First of all remove the lid of the box. Cut 4 cardboard circles to make the wheels. Put a pin through the center of each wheel and then through the sides of the box.

Then cut 2 cardboard strips of the same length. Join them, as seen in the drawing, on the sides of the box with pins.

Then make a hole in the end of each cardboard strip. Put a reel between them and insert a clip that has been converted into a metal line, through the holes. Fold the ends down.

Then fold a paper clip to make a handle. Attach it to the tip of a pencil with tape. Make two holes in the sides of the box and insert the pencil through them.

Place a point of a piece of string in the middle of the pencil and fasten it with tape. Pass the rope over the reel and tie the other end to an electro-magnet.

To make a switch, insert a pin through the side of the box. Screw an electro-magnet wire around it and bend the tips back.

Then insert a second pin through a clip and the box, near the first pin. Join one end of a new cable to it and the other end to the battery.

To finish screw a tip of a new cable around the tip of the second electro-magnet wire . Connect the other end of the cable to the second terminal of the battery. Put the battery in the box.
