Cantabrian Sea
The Cantabrian Sea, much smaller than the Mediterranean, is another of the seas around which Spain is surrounded. It is a coastal sea of the Atlantic Ocean located between the regions of the North of Spain and the regions of the South West of France, in what is the southern zone of the Bay of Biscay. The Cantabrian Sea bathes from the Estaca de Bares, in La Coruña, to the coast belonging to the French Atlantic Pyrenees, at the mouth of the Adour River.
It extends over a length of 800 kilometers, bathing the lands of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Bascas and French soil.
Sea of Alboran
The sea of Alboran, also called the sea of Granada, is not really a sea, but is a submarine within the Mediterranean Sea, although there is a certain consensus when it comes to including it within this list given its geographical, historical and political importance.
It is located in the western area of the Mediterranean, bordering Spain to the north and the African coast to the south, and going from the Strait of Gibraltar to the imaginary line drawn between Cabo de Gata, in Almeria, to Cape Fegalo, in Algeria .
Along its 350 kilometers in length it has an average depth of 1, 000 kilometers, although in some areas it can exceed 2, 200 kilometers.
Atlantic Ocean
The west of the Iberian Peninsula, and Spain by extension, is bathed directly by the Atlantic Ocean, as well as surrounding the Canary Islands. Located between America, Europe and Africa, Arctic and Antarctic glacial ocean, it is the second largest ocean on Earth, second only to the Pacific, which makes it occupy 20% of the total surface of the planet .
