How to teach letters and their sounds

The letters and sounds of the letters form the foundations behind the words we read and lead to the reading of sentences and complete stories. To teach a child the letters and their sounds, there are some methods you can try. Different methods work for children of all ages, so if one does not work, you can try another method. The recognition of letter and sound letters can be taught as soon as the child shows an interest in letters and sounds.

Steps to follow:

one

Show your child a letter . Tell him the name of the letter, and how to say it. Enter the main sound of the lyrics. It starts with the beginning of the alphabet, or with the letters that are often used in small words, such as "G", "A", "T", "O"

two

Work according to the alphabet, focus on one letter per week . Practice making the sound of the letter and say the name of the weekly letter every day. Talk about topics that start with the lyrics. Teach your child to write the lyrics.

3

Join words as soon as you've taught enough letters. After teaching "G", "A", "T" and "O", teach the word "cat", showing your child how the word is written and said. Continue to teach more letters and more complicated words.
