How to differentiate the Muslim veil

In Western countries there is a lot of ignorance about the Muslim culture, its traditions, cults and dresses. Many confuse Burka, chador, nikab, hijab, al almira, türman and all these objects seem the same and we categorize as Burka or simply call it a handkerchief. Next we put a series of images and explanations that will help us differentiate the different Muslim veils.

Burka

A burka, also transliterated burqa, burqa or burqa from Arabic: برقع Burqu "or burqa ') is an outer wraparound garment worn by women in some Islamic traditions to cover their bodies in public places.The Burka is the most closed garment or veil of all and even covers the eyes, where there is only one grid so you can see.

Hiyab

The Hijab is the most open Islamic pledge we are comparing in this article. It leaves the whole face visible and would be very similar to the use of the handkerchief . The hijab is an Islamic female dress code that establishes that most of the body should be covered and that in practice it manifests with different types of garments, according to zones and periods. In a restricted sense, it is often used to designate a specific modern garment, also called Islamic veil.

Chador

The Chador is a type of very closed veil that only leaves the face visible . A chador is a typically Iranian female street garment, consisting of a simple piece of semicircular cloth open in front that is placed over the head, covering the entire body except the face.

Niqab

A nicab is a veil that covers the face and is worn by some Muslim women as part of their burka dress. Own Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, can be found in places as diverse as North Africa, Western Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

Al Amira

It is an Islamic veil of two pieces; one as a cap that fits the head, and the other a kind of scarf like a tube that fits the neck and also covers part of the head. It can be cotton, polyester or lycra.

Shayla

It is a rectangular handkerchief that covers the head is very similar to the Hijab. It can be worn in different ways, although one of the most common is covering the head and above the neck. It is the type of veil that is most seen in Spain.
