How to convert from feet to inches

Even though you can not reach the height you want, you can always feel taller by measuring yourself in inches. In the United States the measure of height is usually a combined measure of feet and inches, although sometimes it is given in feet with an added decimal amount. The conversion of your height to inches only, is relatively simple and requires that you take advantage of a dozen inches on one foot, and at the same time do not neglect the inches as an original measure.

Steps to follow:

one

Separate the height in meters from the height in inches if the measurement of the height is given as a combination of both. For example, if the height is 5 feet, 8 inches, separate into two measurements of 5 feet and 8 inches.

two

Multiply by 12 the part measured in feet to convert to inches . For this example, 5 multiplied by 12 is equal to 60.

3

Add the converted feet to the number of inches of the original measurement. For this example, 60 plus 8 equals 68. A height of 5 feet, 8 inches becomes 68 inches.

Tips
  • Multiply the complete measurement by 12, if it is given in feet with a decimal. For example, the multiplication of 5.5 feet by 12 is equal to 66 inches.
