How to convert an archvio JPG to BMP

JPG is a compressed image format that has become a standard on the Internet due to its small file size. The BMP (bitmap) is a much larger file format without data compression that also requires specific visualization software. You can convert a JPG file to BMP using the "Paint" program that comes installed by default with the Microsoft Windows operating system.

You will need to:
  • Microsoft Paint
  • Microsoft Windows
Steps to follow:

one

Open the "Start" menu. Select "All Programs", then "Accessories", then "Paint".

two

Press the "Ctrl" + "O" key on the keyboard to access the "Open ..." dialog box

3

Look in your folders for the JPG file that you want to convert to BMP, double click on it to open it.

4

Press the "F12" key on your keyboard to save a copy of the image as a new file. A "Save" window appears.

5

Click on the "Save as type" option at the bottom of the window and choose the type of bitmap . The monochrome bitmaps will convert the image to black and white, 16 bitmaps and 256 colors will have limited color availability, and 24bit bitmaps will have the largest color range. You must choose the largest color setting available on your computer unless the application that is going to convert the file requires a specific color palette.
