How to download games on the Nintendo DSi

The Nintendo DSi is the third incarnation in the history of the Nintendo DS. Introduced in 2009, the Nintendo DSi adds a larger screen, as well as two cameras, one pointing to the player and one from it. It also contains internal memory with which you can use a wireless internet connection to download complete games, which was not possible with previous versions of the Nintendo DS. To download games on the Nintendo DSi, you must set up an internet connection. Go to "System Settings" from the DSi menu and press the "A" button.

Select the "Internet" option.

Select "Connection options" followed by "Connection 1".

Select "Search for an Access Point." The DSi will search for wireless networks.

Select your connection and choose "OK" to confirm.

Click "OK" to start a connection test. Once the test is finished, the console will return to the connection menu and will set "Configuration finished". Return to the main menu of the DSi.

Select "Shop Nintendo DSi" and press the "A" button. The system will connect to the local wireless network connection. Once the connection is established, the DSi Store menu will appear.

Choose "Start buying."

Then "Add DSi points" from among the options that appear there. DSi points can be purchased with Nintendo Points Cards, which are available in stores, or using credit cards.

Select "DSiWare" from the available options and select the title you want from the list. You can also choose the "find title" option to search for a game manually.

Touch the title you want to buy from the available games.

Touch "Download" to buy the title and then "Yes" to confirm the purchase.

Once purchased, the console will go to a download screen. Once the game has finished downloading, press "OK" and then press the "Power" button on the console to return to the main menu of the DSi.

Touch the gift-shaped image with the name of the title you purchased on the DSi menu. The console will display an animation of the gift unfolding, making the game available to be played. Congratulations! You have downloaded a game for your Nintendo DSi!
