How to measure the tire pressure

The importance of a good tire lies in the fact that this is the only means of contact between the ground and the car. It is for this reason that you must know how to measure the pressure of a tire. Carry a proper inflation pressure in your car is very important to obtain the best performance of the tire. The correct inflation pressure is recommended by the tire manufacturer, to know what pressure your tires should go with, consult your car's instruction manual. The inflation pressure is generally between 28 to 30 psi. in light vehicles. This pressure must be controlled at least every 15 days and including the spare wheel

Steps to follow:

one

To be able to measure the pressure of a tire you must use a pressure gauge. In case you do not have a manometer, you can go to the nearest service station that you have, usually there always have them.

two

If you go to the service station, once you get there you have to look for the Air and Water area. Direct your car there.

3

Once you have reached the Air zone, park your car in front of the engine, put the handbrake on and get off your vehicle.

4

Then, you see wheel by wheel (even the spare) and the plug stopper, this is usually located inside the rim, you will see it easily because it is black. Once you have removed all the plugs, guardalós in a safe place, it is very important that you do not lose them.

5

Then go to the Air machine and grab the hose and put the hose inside the spout of a wheel. You must do it gently but at the same time in a safe way and you must put the hose until the end of the spout. Be careful not to be scared, when you put the beginning of the hose in the spout you will hear an air noise, do not worry, it is normal.

6

Once you have put the hose in the spout, go to the air machine and that's where you can measure the tire pressure .

7

Do the same for all the tires of the vehicle, including the spare one.

8

Once you have measured the pressure of all the tires, check the results obtained with what the manufacturer of your car recommends (for this you can consult the instruction manual).

9

If you detect that one of your tires has low pressure, you should air it. On the other hand, if you detect that one of your tires has too high a pressure, you should remove air.

Tips
  • If the vehicle uses different pressures on the front and rear axles, the spare tire must have the highest recommended pressure.
