How an electoral table is constituted

Because knowing the functioning of your democracy will give you more tools to choose better. Also, you never know if it will be your turn to attend one of them in the next elections!

Steps to follow:

one

When you go to vote, you go to a table where a group of people take your information and allow you to have your vote entered at the polls. All the constituencies are divided into electoral sections. Each of these sections will have at least one table. Who sits at the table? By public drawing, among all the people who are in the list of electors, the president is decided first. He has to know how to read and write, be between 18 and 70 years old, and have a bachelor's degree or professional training. If you can not attend, you must let the Electoral Board of the area know before 7 days. The president is the one who directs the table, and is helped by two other members .

The members are also designated by mail from the list of voters . They must know how to read and write and be less than 70 years old. They have the obligation to attend, but if they can not do it, they have to notify the Electoral Board. In case, in the draw two substitutes are designated for each of the positions.

None of the members of the table can be absent for no reason, since it is a duty that if not complied with is punished with arrest and fine .

4

Since the voting will last all day, the members of the table have to have time to eat or go to the toilet if they wish. But the table should never be left with less than two members.

5

The auditors are people who represent the political parties and control the development of the voting of a certain table, but they do not have a vote in the decisions that are taken in it. If they do not agree with the recount, they can make protests that will be picked up in the act.Although they are not counted in the table of which they are intervenors, they can exercise their right in it from the moment they take possession of their position. The proxies are in charge of controlling the correct development of the elections and represent a political party. The difference with the auditors is that they do not fit any particular table and they can go to all of them where they can vote for that party.
