How to identify progressive JPEG files

JPEG is a digital image file format . It uses the lossy compression method to allow users to achieve 10: 1 compression ratio with little visible loss in image quality. It is the most common format for storing and transmitting graphics and photographic images on the World Wide Web. A preview of the image is displayed after receiving only a part of the data. You can identify a progressive JPEG image by checking its type in the browser

Click the "Start" button in Windows, and then click "My Computer" to open Windows Explorer.

Click on the JPEG file you want to check, click on "Open with" and select the option "Internet Explorer".

Click on the "View" option and choose the "Source" option in the browser's navigation menu.

Check the "image / jpeg" box in the "Type" line of the open box to identify the progressive JPEG image.
