Can you do nudism on any beach?

In the Spanish coasts there are more than 400 nude beaches, spaces where the possibility of enjoying the sea and the landscape without the need to wear any garment is specifically indicated. But does the existence of these places indicate that it is not possible to do the same in any other beach? In .com, we answer the question of whether nudism can be carried out on any beach in a simple way and according to Spanish legislation.

What the Spanish law says about nudism

Until 1978 the Spanish constitution expressly prohibited any type of nudism in public spaces, which include the beach, rivers, lakes, squares, etc. After this date this prohibition ceased to exist, however the penal code stipulated an article referring to the "public scandal", for this reason it resulted in the establishment of nude beaches in order that those wishing to perform these naturist practices come to they avoided the possibility that any other person, by a moral judgment, alluded to the public scandal in the presence of someone naked on a "normal" beach.

But this article of the penal code was eliminated in 1989, allowing nudism in a legal manner and without there being any moral law that prohibits it.

Can you do nudism on any beach?

As explained in the previous section, you can do nudism on any beach without there being any law that prohibits it. In fact all the prohibitions in this regard that have been tried have failed miserably to be considered as discrimination the fact of preventing someone's natural right to be naked in any public space.

Despite this, many people prefer to go to nudist beaches, because they feel more comfortable in these spaces in which most of the attendees are in the same condition.

According to Spanish law, no authority can demand that we dress on a beach that is not indicated as nudist, nor is it possible to do so in rivers, lakes, parks or squares. Therefore if you wish you can carry out this practice in any Spanish beach.
