How to make a shelf for plants

This is a great way to save space and offers you the ability to have plants almost anywhere in the house. This shelf for plants and flowers can also look good on a balcony or even at the entrance of the house if we have a rustic and vintage style.

Steps to follow:

one

This support for plants is ideal to use wood leftovers and old drawers at one time. Here we are going to recycle, but you can open your drawers quite easily . Keep reading this tutorial where a clear example to make drawers is shown.

two

When you work with reclaimed wood, you have to remove all the nails and screws before you start. Use a hammer to hit the nails, and then use the opposite end of the hammer to remove them.

3

The total size of the flower or plant shelf in this example is 860mm high, 550mm deep, and 500mm wide. This means that the legs are 860mm long. You will have to modify the width of the other tables to fit the size of the drawers you are using.

4

In the upper and lower part of each leg you have to cut the wood at an angle of 15ยบ . Remember that they are opposing angles (they have an opposite slope). When you put the planks you will see that the 15th gives you a straight edge when the boards are placed at an angle.

5

Once the legs are cut, the distance and length of the crossbars can be determined. If you already have the drawers, adjust the length of the 3 crossbars accordingly.

6

Use screws to fix the crossbars. With one side finished, you can duplicate it to do the other. The inside of the drawers has to be sprayed with varnish or sealant to create a waterproof seal and protect the drawers from rot.

7

To mount the drawers, you have to screw them into the lower and middle crossbars. Then you will need the help of someone to hold them while attaching the remaining side of the shelf . At the top you can nail a couple of parallel tables, and place some plants on top.
