How to make a dryer

A fun, easy and useful experiment is to make a dryer. Put this small dryer in motion and wring out wet clothes or papers. It will not dry them completely but it will eliminate a lot of water. It is convenient to do this experiment in a place outside where it does not matter that things get wet. Look at the following article on, how to make a dryer.

You will need to:
  • A plastic bottle
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Rope
  • A spool of thread
Steps to follow:

one

First of all cut the top of a plastic bottle and attach it to the ropes in the same way as in drawings 1 and 2 for the water turbine. Make many holes in the bottle with the scissors .

two

Then slide a spool of thread into the rope of the bottle. Tie a pencil to the end of the string.

3

Finally, place rags and paper towels a little wet inside the bottle. Press them down gently. Do not put them too tight.

4

Why it happens. When anything, as this great trombone turns, expels the objects that are on it. This is called centrifugal force. When the dryer rotates, it expels water through the holes.
