How to do the conductivity test

To conduct the conductivity test we recommend that you do it with the night lamp that we teach to do in. Use the lamp at night to do a test and what you have to do is find out what things let the electricity pass through them. Test with metals, wood and cardboard. Look at the following article on, how to do the conductivity test.

You will need to:
  • A night lamp
  • 2 long pieces of cables with bare ends
  • 2 teaspoons of coffee
  • 2 pieces of tin foil to wrap the teaspoons
  • Scotch tape
Steps to follow:

one

First wind one end of each piece of wire, around the two pins of the switch on the front of the lamp. Gently wrap each teaspoon in tin foil for testing.

two

Then tape a bare end of each piece of wire to the handle of each teaspoon. Make sure the light switch is off before testing.

3

Hold the two teaspoons in the things you are testing to see their conductivity. When you find something that conducts electricity, the light goes on.
