How to distinguish parts of the day in English

The English divide the day into four parts. We find it a bit strange because for Spaniards the day has only three parts: morning, afternoon and evening. Next, we explain how to distinguish the parts of the day in English.

In the morning

This expression is used from the moment the sun rises until 12 noon. To exemplify it, it would be from 6 am to 12 am (depending on what time the sun rises according to the time of year)

In the afternoon

This time of day includes the hours from 12 a.m. until dinner time. Therefore, this expression would be used from approximately 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In the evening

We will use this part of the day to refer to the hours from the time of dinner until the time the sun goes down or when you are going to sleep. Therefore, "evening" would be used from 6 pm to 10 pm approximately.

At night

From the time to go to sleep until the time the sun rises, that is, from 10 pm to 6 am
