How to make Halloween ornaments with clothespins

On Halloween, it is essential to decorate our house with reasons for this holiday and make it as terrifying as possible. We can create the decoration ourselves and make spiders, pumpkins, ghosts, mummies ... that will surprise all visitors. In this article, we explain the steps on how to make Halloween ornaments with clothespins in the shape of a bat.

You will need to:
  • Wood clothes tweezers
  • Bat template
  • Black cardboard (or the color you prefer)
  • Painting
  • Brush
  • Scissors
  • Cutter
Steps to follow:

one

The first thing you will need to make Halloween ornaments with clothespins will be a template the way you want to give it . In our case, they will be bats ornaments; You can draw them yourself on a card or choose to download a template like the one we show you in the image.

two

You must ensure that the template is symmetrical, that is, that both wings of the bat coincide.

3

Once you have the template, you should cut it by the edge of the drawing, as well as cut it in two equal parts, that is, in half. To make it easier, you can fold it in the middle, joining the wings and cut by the bent mark.

4

The next step to build bats for Halloween will be to draw the shape of the template on black cardboard . You will need two bat wings per clip and you can also make them from other typical Halloween colors like orange or purple.

5

Next, you will have to cut the wings and then make a cut on the side of the clip to insert each wing ; The size of the cut should be the same as that of the wing. That is why the tweezers should be made of wood - and not plastic - and in case of doing this craft with children, this step should be done by adults, with the help of a cutter or some other cutting tool.

6

It should be noted that there is also the possibility of gluing the wings of the bat to the clamp with tail, but it will be very likely that they will take off quickly.

7

The next step will be to paint the clothespins of the same color as the wings, be it black, orange, purple or the one you prefer. You can use school paint, type tempera, because the wood will absorb this paint well.

8

Once we have dried the wooden claws, we will be able to place the wings in the grooves that we have made on the sides and we will have ready our Halloween ornament in the shape of a bat.
