How to write the letter to the Magi

Writing the Letter to the Three Kings is absolutely essential. If you want to make sure you receive those gifts you want so much, you must communicate it in writing to His Authorities the Kings of the East. January 6 is the key day. So prepare your writing, give it in hand to a royal page or, even better, to one of the three Kings . The cavalcade on day 5, if one is organized in your city, is an excellent opportunity to do so. So here we give you some tips to make this process as effective!

Ask your parents, or an older brother or sister (or an adult you trust), to help you and give you a pen with writing paper and an envelope. In the case you do not know how to write, ask them to do it for you. This is a serious thing!

Think of all those gifts that you are especially excited to receive, those that you intensely wish to meet on the morning of January 6th. You will have to describe them. Specify color, shape, function, etc. Do not leave any detail, since the Kings have a lot of work and you will help them if you are concrete. If you prefer, one tip is to cut out the photographs from a department store catalog and paste them to the side. So there will be no doubt ;-)

Remember also that the kings have to give gifts to many children, so you may not receive exactly what you write. Be selective and select your favorites!

Start the letter with a "Dear Magi Kings". It is important to always say hello when you start. Explain that you have been good all year long (they know the truth, but maybe that's how they realize your intention was good).

Ask them to bring you "the gifts that you like for me, please". You will give them freedom of choice and it is a sign of respect towards them. Kings like protocol and good manners! Before saying goodbye, add also: Thanks for being so generous. That shows that you trust them and believe in their final good choice.

After having made your proposal for toys, costumes, video games, etc. finalize the letter with: "Sincerely + your name".

To finish, make sure that the letter reaches its destination. Ask an adult to give it to you above all. As we have said, it would be safer if you delivered it yourself or witnessed how someone in your family does it. You can propose it at home!
