Where the word Italia comes from

The name of this European country comes, according to some researchers, from vitalis, a name given to numerous peoples of Greek origin who had settled down to the south of the peninsula, some eight centuries before Christ. Among these peoples were the Italics, a tribe that did not have much importance and which, nevertheless, imposed its name on the whole country.
