How to enable power management in the BIOS

The BIOS of your computer is a program that controls the basic operation of the input of several connected or integrated output devices in the system. Without the BIOS, the main processor of the computer would not have the ability to communicate with others, or use the relevant components of the system. Enabling and adjusting the power management settings in the BIOS reduces power consumption and gives you control over how the computer works when it is not in use.

Steps to follow:

one

Turn on the computer and enter the BIOS menu . Depending on your particular computer or the BIOS version, you have to press a certain key to access the BIOS menu. Pay close attention to the display screen during the startup process to determine the correct key. Alternatively, consult the user manual or see "Resources", for a link of key combinations by the manufacturer.

two

Enter the system password, if applicable.

3

Go to the appropriate power management options, with the keyboard. In most cases, by highlighting a specific energy management element, a wider explanation of the option occurs.

4

Enable or adjust the appropriate energy management options, according to your needs. Save the configuration and exit the BIOS menu . After saving and exiting the BIOS menu, the computer restarts.
