How to eject a CD from Mac

Among the many differences that we can find between PC and Mac, one of them is that in Macintosh there is no tray that goes in and out to place the CD, but we must enter it directly through a slot. This feature that is so "cool" can sometimes be a nightmare. Do not worry if you can not eject a cd from mac, follow the advice I give you below and see how everything has a solution.

You will need to:
  • A Macintosh computer
Steps to follow:

one

The usual way to eject a cd or dvd disc from mac is by dragging it to the trash can or by pressing the "eject" key (eject), which is usually found in the upper right corner of the keyboard.

two

If you do not see the disk on the screen, go to applications / utilities / disk utility, and eject it from there.

3

If your mac keeps resisting we have two procedures. The first one can be more complex but it allows you to program the ejection of the disk without the need to restart the system. Access " terminal " from applications / utilities / terminal.

4

Previously, you see the system profile / about this mac / more information. There you will be able to know the name BSD of the disc that you want to eject. As the disk (cd or dvd) is in the reader unit, you will find it in the secluded ATA.

5

Once you know the name of the disk, which will be something like "disk1s0" you just have to go to the terminal and enter the following command: hdiutil eject -force / dev / disk1s0

6

Remember to enter at the end of the order (after / dev /) the name of your disk, since this is just an example.

7

If this method has not worked for you, the simplest way is to restart the system and keep the mouse pressed during the entire reboot. Although it seems strange it works! This is how your rebel cd will be forcibly expelled.
