How to know the number of shares of a company

Knowing the number of shares of a listed company is not very complicated if you have internet. In fact, many web pages dedicated to economic issues show the number of shares of companies, but usually do so in an abbreviated manner. In this post we will explain where to find the exact number of shares of a listed company.

You will need to:
  • Internet
Steps to follow:

one

Enter the website of the CNMV (National Securities Market Commission - www.cnmv.es) and enter "Search by entities."

two

Once inside, type in the name of the company you want to know the number of shares and press "search". Note: In large companies listed in different markets and businesses, they give you the option to choose between the different options (if we want the parent company we would choose "name of the company + SA").

3

Here you find all the public information of the company that you are required to submit to the regulator (CNMV). Now you give "Data of the Entity".

4

A part of the number of shares, you can also know the NIF, social capital etc.

Tips
  • Apart from the option of the CNMV, many companies have a space for shareholders and investors on the website where you can see relevant data of the entity.
