How to write a Research Methodology

Regardless of whether your research project has given results and important points of view or not, you can write a technically strong document. The key to writing a high quality work is to be meticulous and concise, and to include all the most important sections, including the methodology. The methodology is the section of the document that describes the objectives of the experiment and the methods by which these objectives are expected to be achieved. So that you know more about the best way to do it, in we explain in detail how to write the methodology of an investigation.

Steps to follow:

one

Write a brief introduction to the methodology section as a whole. The introduction should establish the objectives of the experimental research (or briefly reiterate if they have been covered in a previous section), and should suggest different challenges that may stand in the way of achieving these objectives. For this general introduction, the ideal would be a single paragraph and should have its own heading.

two

Write a summary of your research methodology . Again, this section should be relatively short, but may be longer than the introduction. The quick summary should cover all the main components of the methods you have used to carry out your research, omitting all minor details. As you write, keep in mind that the purpose of this summary is to inform readers that they do not read the extended version of the methodology what will be written next. This section should also have its own header.

3

Begin the methodology with a new heading . The first part of the extended methodology should address the methods of data collection. This section should be thorough, although not excessively long, and should describe in exact terms all the methods it uses to achieve its research objectives through data collection. You can include several sections within this section, such as materials, participants, duration of the investigation and step-by-step procedures.

4

The extended methodology should be followed by writing the data analysis section. As in the data collection section, these paragraphs should cover all the details of the system used to draw meaningful conclusions from the data we have collected. Subtitles may also be appropriate for this section, but the types of subtitles you use are entirely dependent on the subject matter of the investigation

5

Correct and edit your work . Be sure to indicate the methodology as your own section within the table of contents for your research work. Remember that the methodology should go along with the introduction of the research.
