Steps to follow:

one

Searching a word in Word may seem like a very simple task when the document is short or the term in question is repeated a few times; However, in those cases in which we need to locate a word or expression in a long file, this tool is the most appropriate to achieve it easily and quickly.

So, as will be evident, the first step will be to open Microsoft Word 2010 and access the document in question where you want to find a word, through the File / Open menu and selecting the location of the file.

two

There are two methods through which to open the functionality of finding words in Word, so the first will be to make sure you are in the 'Home' tab and you go to the option that appears in the right corner of the screen. It is an icon with binoculars and the word 'Search' ; If you click directly on the button, you will directly access the simple search of Microsoft Word, although you can also click on the arrow next to it to select the advanced search.

3

The other way of looking for a word is even faster, you just have to remember the shortcut: CTRL + B, that is, you will have to press the 'Control' keys and the letter 'B' at the same time. In either case you will see that on the left of the screen a menu has been opened through which you can search for the word you need to find. To memorize it, think that the key you should remember is the initial of what you want to do: 'B' of 'search'.

4

Let us suppose that -in our case- we want to look for the word "gymkana", we will only have to write it in the text box and it will automatically appear highlighted all the times that this term has been written in the document. In addition to being marked in yellow throughout the text, you will also see the sentences in the menu on the left.

5

Likewise, in case you want to replace all those words with a new term or expression, it will not be necessary to set yourself the task of doing it manually, but Word 2010 also has an automatic option for it. You just have to press on the button located just below the previous one, that is, in the upper right corner where it says 'Replace' or press the keyboard shortcut: CTRL + L.

6

Now you will see that a pop-up dialog has been opened above the text where you can write the original word and the one you want to replace it with in your Word document. Following our example, suppose that "gymkana" we want to replace it in the whole text with "yincana".

7

If you click on 'Replace', only the substitution of the term you have selected at that moment will be made. By pressing the 'Replace all' button, Word will automatically locate all the words that match exactly the one you have written in the text box and replace it with the one you have also placed. Once the substitution is finished, a message will appear with the total number of replacements that has been made.

And ready!
