How to block websites in Mozilla Firefox

The easiest way to block websites in Mozilla Firefox is by using a free add-on called BlockSite . The BlockSite extension blocks sites that have been added to its "blacklist", but it can also be configured to disable links to blocked sites to be blocked by showing themselves non-functional instead of hyperlinks. BlockSite also has a "password protection" that helps prevent unwanted changes in BlockSite.

Steps to follow:

one

Open Firefox, click on "Tools" and then "Add-ons". Click on "Get add-ons" and then "Browse all add-ons." Type "blocksite" in the search bar after the Mozilla Firefox website opens and press "Enter".

two

Click "Add to Firefox" next to the BlockSite entry. Let the add-on load (usually less than 5 seconds), then click "Install now." Restart Firefox when prompted.

3

Go to "Tools, " then "Add- ons, " then click on the BlockSite "Preferences" button after restarting Firefox . Make sure that the radio button "blacklist" is checked, as well as "Activate BlockSite", "Enable alert messages" and "Enable link removal."

4

Type "Allow authentication", then enter a password if you want to prevent users of other blocked websites from deleting or changing the configuration in BlockSite without your permission.

5

Click on the "Add" button, type the URL of the website you want to block, then click "OK." Repeat the procedure to add more sites, or click on the "Clean" button to delete the list. Once the list of blocked sites has been completed, click "OK" and restart Firefox .

Tips
  • To import a list of previously prepared or exported blocked websites, click the "Import" button in the preferences window, find the file you want to import and click "OK". The file must have "[BlockSite]" listed at the top of the page followed by the URL of the sites you want to block.
